1980 Olympics

Moscow won over Los Angeles for the summer of 1980 Olympics games. The games were subdued thanks to a boycott by the United States for the USSR's invasion of Afganistatn. Because of the lower turnout, the olympic viliage was smaller than other cities had built. The Olympic park was built on the outskirts, and is still used today for general recreational sports.
