The short-term hotel is located in Chicago along a site only 18 feet wide and 63 feet long. As a result, the building is very tall and narrow and hugs against the Manhattan building next to it.
The project was particularly challenging because of the narrow dimension of the site. It was only possible to fit two spacious rooms on each floor in addition to two stairways and an elevator. Fortunately, code allows for the second floor to overhang the sidewalk starting from the second story, so the confined site was really only an issue with the ground/lobby floor. The hotel has 16 rooms, a conference room for 100 people in the penthouse and a rooftop terrace.
