Architecture 201 Project 2 - Exercise 3 - The City of Milwaukee
A Room in the City
Description
This path and room connects several pedestrian and bike paths in the area. A bridge is added over the bike trail connecting the bluff to the water. To facilitate the change in elevation, I created a helix ramp, with a lookout and seating area within the circle.
Siteplan and Renderings
The project is straddling a bike path that connects the East side of the city to downtown. The suspension bridge is in 3 parts, two of which connect in the middle via a flat section. Adjacent to the bridge on one side, a double-helix spiral ramp takes the path from the elevation of the city down to the elevation of the old Pump house (now Alterra Coffee) and to connect back with the Lake Park paths.
