Architecture 100 Model
A model of an existing religious space
Description
As I study to be an architecture major, I had to build a model for my Arch 100 Class. My professor chose about 130 buildings and assigned them randomly to the class of 500. I got the National Assembly Building of Bangladesh by Louis Kahn as mine. I constructed it over about 2 weeks in my dorm room out of museum board.
With this first model it was really evident who had a knack for model building and who was clueless. It was interesting to see the strong distinction between the high quality models and the laughable ones. It was a spectrum that was weighted heavily on both sides. Perhaps it is because so many people waited until the day before, and naturally, were not able to finish a nice model. I spent around 30 hours on it, and it still could have been quite a bit better, but it was still worth a 96%.
